Liposuction is a procedure aiming to destroy and remove certain excessive, accumulated subcutaneous fat tissue in order to correct contour and shape of one or several places on human body. This operation may be realised in order to shape the following part of the body: abdomen, sides, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper parts of shoulders, chin, cheeks and neck. There are several methods to perform liposuction, yet vibrating liposuction – PAL (Power-assisted liposuction) is the one that is the most commonly used. This method is characterised by using a vibrating cannula, moving by means of slight moves within the range of 0,5-1mm to the front and to the back. Cannula is connected with the device producing the required amount of energy. This is a method enabling facilitated penetration of fat tissue in all parts of the body containing an increased amount of connective tissue, such as buttocks or back. This procedure leads to a final effect, where the operated surface is more regular – the passage between the operated and untouched area is smoother. The procedure is conducted in an operating room, under general anaesthesia, with participation of anaesthesiological and surgical staff. The procedure lasts about 2-3 hours. The patient is required to stay in the clinic for 1-2 days.
