SCLEROTHERAPY
Minimally invasive varicose veins treatment. Sclerotherapy aims to close incompetent veins and to reduce blood volumes in lower limb surface venous vessels. Leads to a reduction in arterial blood pressure in surface vein systems. This has a beneficial effect on the skin and subcutaneous tissue of limbs and prevents late vein incompetency complications which include skin ulceration and also achieves an instant cosmetic effect. The most widely used chemical substance is polidocanol (Aetoxysclerol).
Foam sclerotherapy entails application of a chemical substance in the form of a foam into the changed vein. This leads to an inflammation within the vessel and around it and as a result - for such vessel to shrink and be excluded from blood circulation system.
