In summer it is finally warm enough to wear open shoes. Unfortunately, not all decide to use such footwear because their feet do not look well. Some problems cannot be solved even by the best beautician. The problem in this particular case is hallux valgus (bunion), a problem faced mostly by ladies who wear tight high heels.

The disease consists in the deformation of the metatarsal bone that bends to the inside (i.e. towards the centerline of the body), whereas the big toe is bent outside. This causes a visible and painful protrusion.

Not all methods for treating bunion offer a chance of full recovery and a long-lasting effect. The recently popular and advertised non-invasive methods (plasters, separators, splints, and corrective devices) give a false hope of solving the problem. This becomes obvious when you remember that the disease is about deformed bones.

Only a correctly performed surgical procedure ensures great results with which the patient can be really satisfied. Hallux valgus surgery is often and wrongly considered painful and ineffective. However, the experience in this field of surgery proves otherwise.

The modern foot surgery offers a number of procedures that reconstruct the correct anatomy and functioning of the foot. The modern surgical methods do not require wearing casts; they allow the patient to quickly start walking again, without pain, wearing special footwear, and their corrective effect is long-lasting.
At AMC Art Medical Center we offer bunion surgery using the most advanced methods.
