Blepharoplasty may reduce hooded eyelids and restore their shape and contour. In certain cases it is also possible to correct severe dropping of upper eyelids, which can block the field of vision and reduce the range of the field of vision. Incisions are made on the upper lid, within the natural skin fold. Excessive amount of skin and fat tissue are removed together with thin muscle strand. The incision is closed with one layer of extremely thin sutures, and scars are usually hidden in the natural fold of upper lids. The procedure is performed under general (infusion) and local anaesthesia in an operating room, under general anaesthesia, with participation of anaesthesiological and surgical staff. The procedure lasts about 30-40 minutes. The patient is required to stay in the clinic for 0-1 day.
